Because Kansas is located smack dab in the middle of the country, winter can be unpredictable. As a result, Kansas State University climatologist Mary Knapp says Kansans need to be prepared for rapidly changing conditions. That includes winterizing your home and vehicles, and making sure there’s a winter weather safety kit in all vehicles.

Sound Living is a weekly public affairs program addressing issues related to families and consumers. It is hosted by Jeff Wichman. Each episode shares the expertise of K-State specialists in fields such as child nutrition, food safety, adult development and aging, youth development, family resource management, physical fitness and more.
