It’s common to eat lighter during the summer. One benefit of eating lighter is that we tend to eat healthier foods, especially low-cost, in-season fruits and vegetables. K-State Research and Extension nutrition specialist Sandy Procter says summer also provides an opportunity for parents to talk to children about nutrition, preparing healthy meals, and growing their own food.
Sound Living is a weekly public affairs program addressing issues related to families and consumers. It is hosted by Jeff Wichman. Each episode shares the expertise of K-State specialists in fields such as child nutrition, food safety, adult development and aging, youth development, family resource management, physical fitness and more.
