Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just a novice, winter is a good time to plan spring and summer gardens. According to Dennis Patton, K-State Research and Extension horticulture agent for Johnson County, it’s an opportunity to think about what you want to plant, research new varieties and consider any changes you’d like to make. He also says planning for spring and summer gardens during winter will save time, energy and money when planting season arrives.
